Rubber hex dumbbells in pairs from 5 to 50 lb

Where to Buy Dumbbells in Toronto (and What You Should Pay)

Dumbbells are the first thing most people buy for a home gym, and they are also where a lot of people overpay. Prices jump around a lot between stores, online sellers and Marketplace listings. Here is how we would shop for them if we were on the other side of the counter.

Compare by price per pound

The sticker price on its own doesn't tell you much. Divide the price by the total weight and you can compare any two offers in a few seconds.

  • A pair of 25 lb dumbbells is 50 lb of weight. At $1.10 per pound that's $55 for the pair.
  • A set of 5 to 30 lb pairs is 210 lb in total. At $229.99 that works out to about $1.10 per pound.

Our rubber hex dumbbells are $1.10 per pound and sold one at a time, so you only pay for the weights you actually use. Our PVC dumbbells (15 to 25 lb) start at about $0.67 per pound if you want something cheaper for lighter work.

Singles or a full set?

If you're just starting, you don't need a full rack. Two or three pairs cover most workouts, and you can add heavier ones as you get stronger. Buying singles also makes sense if you only need one heavy dumbbell for goblet squats or one-arm rows.

A set is worth it once you know you'll keep training. The 5 to 30 lb set ($229.99) is the range most home workouts live in. The 5 to 50 lb bundle is 550 lb of dumbbells for $579.99, about $1.05 per pound, and you can get it with a 3 tier rack.

See them before you buy

Dumbbells all look the same in photos. In person you notice the things that matter day to day: how the handle grip feels, whether the heads are tight, how they sit on a rack, and whether the rubber smell bothers you. If you're near North York or Vaughan, it's worth coming in and picking a few up before you decide.

Buying used? Check these first

Used dumbbells can be a good deal. Just check them properly before you hand over cash:

  • Loose heads. Hold the handle and try to twist each end. Any movement is a problem.
  • Cracked or peeling rubber. It gets worse over time and leaves bits on your floor.
  • Rust on the handle. Light surface rust cleans up. Deep pitting rips up your hands.
  • The real price per pound. If a used pair costs almost the same as new, buy new.

Getting them home

A few pairs add up fast. A 30 lb pair is 60 lb, and a full 5 to 50 lb set is over 500 lb. Make sure your car can take it, or ask about local delivery across the GTA. We'll give you a delivery quote over the phone or by text.

Common questions

How much do dumbbells cost in Toronto?

It depends on the type and the seller, which is why price per pound is the best way to compare. Our rubber hex dumbbells are $1.10 per pound, sold individually (prices as of October 2026).

Are dumbbells sold in pairs or one at a time?

Both happen. Ours are sold one at a time, so add two to your cart if you want a pair.

Can I get dumbbells the same day?

Yes. In-stock weights can be picked up the same day. Walk in during store hours, or order online and choose in-store pickup.

Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver locally across the GTA. Call or text for a quote.
